KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Mark Yates has praised chairman Barry Norgrove for providing the funds to finance the signing of Keith Lowe.

The 22-year-old former Cheltenham defender has penned a contract at Aggborough until the end of the season after impressing with his performances.

The Harriers board freed up extra money to allow the deal to go through and Yates is delighted.

Kidderminster are currently in the middle of two games in three days, with tomorrow’s Blue Square Premier trip to Grays Athletic (2pm) coming hot on the heels of Thursday’s televised match against Torquay United.

Yates said: “Keith has come in and been great for us, we know what he’s about.

“He’s a big, big addition to the squad — he enjoyed pre-season with us and, even though he had other options, he’s come to us. We’re really pleased to have him on board.

“The chairman has got to take a lot of credit because everyone knows the situation, the budget is tight but he’s allowed me to bring Keith in and I think we can all see the difference he makes to us.

“It’s my job to get in the best possible players for as little as possible and we have a budget to keep to but, to be fair to the chairman, he’s allowed me to go a little bit over and I thank him for that.”
