STOURPORT Swifts will be looking to cause an FA Trophy upset tonight when they host British Gas Business Premier Division side Yate Town at Walshes Meadow (7.45pm) in a first qualifying round replay.

Neil Hunt’s men left the Lodge Road side battling for their lives in Saturday’s clash after former Wolves trainee Chris Cornes fired the Division One Midlands outfit into the lead from the penalty spot.

But a late own goal from Steve Towers meant the two sides must do battle again with a home clash with Premier Division strugglers Bashley awaiting the winners in the second qualifying round.

Having rebuilt his Swifts squad following a disappointing start to the campaign, Hunt would have been delighted to bring the Bluebells back to the Meadow.

But the task now is to go one better and see off their Premier Division opponents.

After destroying Clevedon Town 4-0 in their FA Trophy first qualifying round clash, Evesham United must travel to fellow Premier Division new boys Stourbridge in the next round.

But first they must turn their attentions to the Worcestershire FA Senior Cup when they travel to Bromsgrove Rovers (7.45pm) for a place in the semi-finals.

Robins chief Paul West turned down an approach from the Victoria Ground club after Rovers sacked Duane Darby earlier in the campaign before they turned to former boss Rod Brown.

Rovers will look to bounce back from their FA Trophy exit after they crashed 4-1 at home to Gloucester City.

Malvern Town are also in Senior Cup action tonight (7.45pm) when they host Stourbridge in a first round match at the Langland Stadium.

The BGB Division One Midlands basement boys face a tricky task against the Premier Division strugglers.

Town must put Saturday’s GX Southern League Cup 2-1 defeat to Cirencester Town behind them.
