HEREFORD United’s loan injury jinx has struck again leaving the club with only one goalkeeper Graham Turner is prepared to play.

Chris Weale, on loan from Championship side Bristol City, damaged the tendon in his thumb in training on Thursday and the Edgar Street side say that he will be out for up to six weeks.

The news that the former Yeovil Town custodian is out of action will be a massive blow for the Bulls as they look to build on their first away victory of the season tomorrow when they host Hartlepool United (3pm).

The injury to Weale comes on the back of Wolves’ stopper Matt Murray injuring his cruciate ligaments while on loan with Hereford.

Boss Turner is now restricted to only having Craig Sansom at his disposal as the emergency loan transfer window is shut and the transfer window does not open again until January 1.

The Bulls still have Darren Randolph, on loan from Charlton Athletic, with them but the Edgar Street chief says that he will not play for the club again.

The Addicks’ stopper refused to play in the FA Cup first round match against Dagenham and Redbridge after discovering that Hereford were chasing Murray.

Randolph’s refusal came just two hours before the kick-off in Essex despite being named in the team.

Turner said after his withdrawal that he would have sacked the player had he been contracted to Hereford and fined the Irish stopper two weeks’ wages. He still won’t return to The Valley until the new year.
