TWO coaches from Stourport Trampoline Club excelled at the National Midlands Gala at Cocks Moors Woods Leisure Centre, Kings Heath, in Birmingham.
Lauren Draper, 21, and Sammi House, 19, who both train at the University of Worcester, competed at national ‘C’ level in trampoline and double mini trampoline event.
Draper and House both received national qualifying scores and will compete in the British Cham-pionships at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham in July.
House had an excellent competition and completed two quality routines against tough competition.
The first routine was stable and safe but House completed her second routine with perfect execution and precision in which she gained one of the highest scores to clinch 16th place and the last position for the national qualifiers.
Draper also had a good competition, gaining a respectable 18th place out of 40 competitors but unfortunately just missed out on making the national qualifying score by two places.
Draper, however, had an exceptional competition on the double mini-trampoline, qualifying for the national finals.
After Draper’s first pass, in which she landed two safe skills, she was in eighth place but, due to high difficulty in her next two passes, she moved up to fourth.
