WARNDON Villages Football Club have been honoured for their work over the past year with a prestigious award.

The club will be handed a plaque by the Worcestershire Football Association at Elgar Technology College, Bilford Road, Worcester, on Saturday to mark their elevation to community club status.

It is the top award given by the county FA and recognises the club’s work in developing boys’ and girls’ football.

Villages, who will run 23 teams next season, have signed a sponsorship deal to use fair trade footballs.
