THE under 13 Worcestershire Schools county cup reached its climax with the final between Bredon Hill Middle School and King’s Worcester.

Bredon became state school champions with a tense victory against Christopher Whitehead Language College, while King’s had beaten RGSAO to secure their place in the final.

King’s batted first and in their 20 overs made an impressive 133-6, with Taylor top-scoring on 43 and good support offered by Lamb (24).

In reply, Bredon got off to a quick start scoring 40 in four overs. But, when the impressive Fenney (27) departed, Bredon found themselves at 56-5. The spinners slowed the scoring rate with Lamb (2-7), Parker (2-17) and Harrington (2-33) all looking dangerous.

Only McGuigan (10) and Ryan (11) were to get into double figures and Bredon Hill finished on 94 all out.
