WORCESTER’S Nick Young scored an incredible double when he qualified for the prestigious August Bank Holiday Shakespeare Championships by netting a winning 11-10-0 of tench and eels from peg 46 on the river Avon at Evesham.
Two weeks ago, Young qualified for the Abu Garcia Wychavon Championships, also held on the Bank Holiday weekend with 18-7-0 of barbel and tench from peg 48.
Second place at the Shakespeare qualifier went to Jon Arthur who continued his good run on the river circuit with 10-11-0 from unfancied peg 53 at the top of the dreaded straight at Hampton Ferry.
Ian Sutherland took third place from peg 42 on Hampton Ferry with 5-12-0, made up with a tench, plus perch and eels.
