FORMER England and British and Irish Lions defence expert Phil Larder will be running a coach education session on the ‘Iron Curtain Defence’ at Luctonians’ Kingsland ground on August 8.

Ex-Worcester Warriors coach Larder will be running the session for coaches working in age groups from 15 years to seniors.

The session will include the key principles of defence — tackling technique, decision-making at the breakdown and kick-and-chase.

The cost of the session is £50 per head or £38 for four or more coaches. Bookings can be made by contacting Simon Green-Price on 07967-806678.

Meanwhile, former England lock Nigel Redman will be the guest speaker at a rugby lunch to raise money for the Dan James Trust.

Former Warriors academy director Redman will be speaking at Hopfields in Risbury, Herefordshire, on Sunday, July 26 (1pm).
