TRANSFER-listed former Cheltenham Town club captain John Finnigan is believed to be heading for talks with Kidderminster Harriers today.
Finnigan, who is also interesting Blue Square South side Newport County, is a former team-mate of Harriers boss Mark Yates.
The 33-year-old central midfielder, known for his all-action style, has played more than 250 games for Cheltenham since signing in 2002.
Finnigan started off at Nottingham Forest before enjoying a successful four-year spell with Lincoln City.
But injuries have restricted his appearances over the last two seasons to 25 starts.
A mixture of first teamers, trialists and youth players figured as Harriers thumped Bromyard Town 14-0 and saw off Bewdley Town 3-0 in their first pre-season friendlies.
The Aggborough side ran riot at Bromyard with trialists Kyle Mason, Aaron Farrell (2), a former Harriers youth teamer, and ex-Stafford player Damien Jarrett on target.
Brian Smikle (2), Matthew Barnes-Homer, Darryl Knights, Dean Bennett (2), David McDermott (2), Chris McPhee and youngster Zac Costello also scored. The other trialists included ex-Cheltenham centre-half Gavin Caines, 25, who played 141 games for the Robins, and right-back Duane Courtney, formerly of AFC Telford, Burnley and Welsh side TNS.
Gavin Strachan, son of Scottish international Gordon, featured in central midfield after his release from Notts County.
Former Yeovil teeanger Jordan Street, a centre-back, and defender Liam Dolman, with 54 Northampton appearances under his belt, also played.
In a tougher game at Bewdley, Jarrett, Farrell and youth-team product Myles Jones netted.
