WORCESTER clay pigeon shooter Tim Smith is on top of the world after his display in mid-Wales.
The 52-year-old, from Broad-was, landed the 2009 British Association for Shooting and Conservation World .410 title in Trefeglwys.
Smith, who is the owner of F Durrant and Son in The Shambles, won the event by four shots.
“I have been shooting all my life and this is my first world title,” said the former European, English and Welsh champion.
“I have been close on several occasions so it’s good to finally land the crown.”
Having represented Great Britain in the past, Smith says there are no chances for him to represent his country at the 2012 Olympics.
“They are just different disciplines. The title I won was for the smallest gauge rifle you can have,” he said.
Smith, who has won more than 100 different events in clay pigeon shooting, also holds lessons for anyone interested, whatever their experience. He can be contacted on 01905-25247.
