WESTFIELDS overcame a tricky tie in the FA Vase first round, winning 2-0 at Midland Combination side Walsall Wood.
Fields broke through in the 38th minute when Daryl Addis tapped in after Mark Davis’ header was saved.
Wood came back strongly before the break and Paul Casey cleared off the line to keep the lead intact.
Fields increased their lead through Scott Jackson’s free-kick from the half-way line which flew into the net aided by a swirling wind.
