PERSHORE returned to winning ways with an emphatic 20-0 win against Southam in Midlands Three West (South).
For the first 20 minutes, Southam could not get out of their 22, but Pershore failed to take advantage.
However, a quick tap-penalty from Sid Hirons set up Karl Evans to smash his way over the line. Lewis Dolphin converted. More Pershore pressure was resisted by Southam but, with the clock ticking down, Martin Hope crashed over.
Matt Syphus then extended the lead by gathering his own chip ahead to score a fine try.
Pershore wasted plenty more chances to cross the line, before a simple Dolphin penalty at the death completed the scoring.
For his work-rate, scrummaging and line-out support play, the man-of-the-match award went to Evans.
