WESTFIELDS put up a fine second-half display but lost 1-0 at runaway leaders Barwell in the Midland Alliance.
The hosts raced into a seventh-minute lead when Adam Cunnington put them ahead after a four-man move.
Fields’ midfield was often overrun by Barwell man-of-the-match Nick Green.
Terry Green cleared off the line from Cunnington and keeper Jamie Moore saved from ex-Worcester City player Liam McDonald.
Fields hit back with shots charged down and Daryl Addis’ effort scrambled clear.
