WORCESTER Wolves Seconds beat Coalville Cougars 83-75 in an exciting English Basketball League Division Four match.

Albert Ziwa was in fine form for Wolves as he made a number of long-range threes in 20-point tally.

The hosts appeared to be well in command at half-time, leading 41-29, but then Coalville had their best spell.

The visitors clawed their way back as they shaved the lead to just two points early in the final quarter.

But Wolves found another gear to stretch away with a burst of nine unanswered points to claim their third win in four league outings.

First-teamers Roy Owen and Damian Cope came to the fore alongside good performances from Charlie Higgs and Eric Chesser.

Coach Guy Evans said: “This marked our third win in a row and I am pleased with the level of commitment shown by the players as we strive for promotion.

“However, we have yet to play a consistent basketball game for the full 40 minutes.

“We have shown lapses in our concentration a few times this season and must ensure the players are motivated by the desire to play the game and not play the score.

“We opened the door in the third quarter for the opposition to come back at us and must be more focused for the whole duration of the game.”
