MACAULEY Johnson starred with four goals as Northside Tigers Under 13s saw off Newtown Sports Colts 9-1 in the Mercian Festival Junior League Division Two.

In tricky weather conditions, Johnson caught the eye with fine power and skill and fellow winger Jordan Wise also impressed.

Wise produced a pin-point cross for Brandon Beasant to crash home the first of his two goals, while Luke Obrey tapped in after good work from Justin Brown.

John Lee and Sam Green were also on target for Tigers, while Newtown netted a consolation despite an impressive display from defenders Ross Joyner and Harry Taylor.

Droitwich Spa Wildcats Girls Under 13s booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Mercian League Shield with a 4-2 victory at Redditch United Jewels.

Two excellent saves from Wildcats keeper Chloe Deam kept the game goalless before they took the lead with an unstoppable strike from Lucy Loach.

Redditch levelled but Charlotte Tyrer bagged goals either side of half-time and Imogen Alps added the fourth after good play from Abbie Wallis.

Redditch pulled a goal back late on but outstanding defending from Casey Homer and Chelsea Brown saw Wildcats home.

UNDER 11s: Division Two side Northside Colts created a cup shock with a 5-3 victory over higher-graded Oldbury Park Tigers.

Colts started well and took an early lead through Dan Banks.

But the game was tightly contested throughout the first-half with Brandon Gale making plenty of fine saves.

Banks added a second after the interval but Gale was eventually beaten twice in the final five minutes as Tigers forced extra-time.

Kurtis Bolton netted twice and Banks completed his first hat-trick for the club as Tigers’ third goal proved merely a consolation.

UNDER NINES: Oldbury Park Tigers Gold extended their unbeaten run to nine matches with a 3-0 cup victory at Evesham United Panthers.

The whole Tigers team played their part in a good performance and dominated much of the match, despite resistance from an under-strength Panthers team who never let their heads drop.

Both teams played good football in difficult conditions but the pressure eventually told with goals from Farmer, Jones and Simmons. For team pictures, see Saturday's Worcester News.
