STOURPORT Swifts crashed to a 1-0 defeat at Arlesey Town in Zamaretto League Division One Midlands.

The deciding goal of the contest saw Chris Marsh fire home a low drive on 69 minutes.

But the visitors were slow to start as their first notable chance fell to Nathan Jukes midway through the first-half. Chris Cornell’s corner saw Jukes’ effort deflected over.

Jamie Insall had Swifts’ next best chance just after the interval which saw the home keeper save his effort.

But the hosts continued to grind out chances early in the second period as Dewayne Stupple came closest as he mis-cued over the Swifts crossbar.
