THE first rounds of the Perdiswell club’s new mid-week winter leagues with R Holdham the first winner of the 18-hole competition with a score of 41 stableford points.

This was three ahead of Dave Postans with Phil Lane in third place on 37 points.

The nine-hole round was won by James Daly after a countback from Colin Martin when both finished on 16 points.

In the Saturday League, Stan Wyres was awarded first place from Fred Pickwick after both finished with 37 points. Tom Saint was a point behind on 36 to take third spot.

Round two of the mid-week league was won by Dave Evans with 40 points. Brian Hodgetts took second place from Ron Nicklin after both finished on 36 points.

The nine-hole round was won by James Daly on 17 points with Gordon Maycroft and Bill Morris taking the next two places.

A Texas scramble competition was arranged for presentation day and the winning team was Adrian Crowley, John Fogwill, Ted Holmes and John Rudge with a creditable team score of gross 65, nett 58.

In second place was the team of Mick Boylan, Brian Cash, Ray Day and Alan Manning on gross 68, nett 60.

The presentation night saw 34 trophies and 22 medals presented to members and hole-in-one certificates were presented to Gordon Mayhew, Nathan Johnston and Jane Nicklin.

The principle guest for the evening was Jenny Osman from the Air Ambulance Service who, on behalf of the service, accepted a cheque for £600 from club members presented by seniors captain Geoff Edge.

Round three of the Wed-nesday League was won by Phil Lane on 36 points, John Bastow was third on 35 with Bernard Wood in third place on 34.

The nine-hole round was won by Ray Day with Bill Morris second.

Adrian Crowley took first spot in round two of the Saturday League followed by Steve Williams and Rob Bradshaw. Jas Bishop took first place in the ladies winter league.

The winners of round four of the mid-week winter leagues were Brian Cash scoring 40 points over 18 holes and Bill Morris scoring 20 points in the nine-hole competition.

Round three of the Sat-urday League was won by Dave Postans with 40 points in second spot was Phil Lane after countback with Mike Williams in third with 39 points.
