HEREFORD United’s schedule has been disrupted to such an extent by the weather they have been forced to train on the club’s car park.

The Bulls have managed to complete just once match since December 15’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy loss to Milton Keynes Dons — a 1-0 League Two defeat at Torquay United on Boxing Day.

Subsequent games against Aldershot, Lincoln City and Crewe Alexandra, as well as today’s fixture at Cheltenham Town, have all fallen foul of the weather.

It has led to a frustrating few weeks for United and also forced creative amendments to their training programme given the lack of access to the Edgar Street pitch.

Manager John Trewick explained: “We have used indoor areas, artificial turf and have even trained outside on the car park and on the track around the outside of the pitch, but that is frozen solid now as well.

“We have been in our own gymnasium but that is small and restricts the activities that we can do.

“We even had part of a training session in the dressing room when we did part of a circuit in there.

“So we have utilised everything we can but there is nothing quite like getting on grass and actually playing the game there.

“At the moment, unfortunately, we are unable to do that.”

He added: “We have been lucky to use the Royal National College for the Blind, which is a good facility, and we are grateful to have that on our doorstep.”

Full-back Ryan Green is set to undergo surgery on Monday to repair a hernia problem and will be out of action for between three and four weeks.
