A NEW ladies team from Droitwich Rugby Club is training hard ahead of their first match later this month.
The team is gearing up too take on Camp Hill at the town’s Glyn Mitchell Memorial Ground on Sunday, March 28 (2.30pm).
Under the guidance of former British Army player Steve Duffield, the team currently plays touch rugby but is hoping to graduate to the full contact version next season.
They plan to enter the North Midlands Ladies Rugby Cluster League, a friendly competition for similar-sized clubs in the region.
Players currently train on Thursdays between 6.30pm and 8pm and Sundays from 2pm to 2.30pm.
The team is also keen to recruit new members and anyone wishing to play, whether they have rugby experience or not, is welcome to attend training.
