EVESHAM United moved a small step closer to preserving their Zamaretto League Premier Division status earning a hard-fought draw with in-form neighbours Stourbridge.
The Glassboys were looking to make it four wins in a week against an Evesham side who had bagged just two points out of a possible 33.
And it was the visitors who cashed in on Evesham’s poor run of form by taking a 19th minute lead. Ryan Rowe escaped the clutches of the Evesham back four before calmly finding the corner of Nathan Vaughan’s net.
The hosts refused to lie down and were back on level terms within two minutes. Vaughan’s clearance upfield found its way to leading scorer Marcus Palmer who beat Lewis Solly with a fine finish to reach double figures for the season.
Vaughan then denied the visitors an interval lead, going full length to get a hand on Sam Rock’s deflected drive.
The second-half was evenly matched with neither side able to take a grip.
Stourbridge, though, did enjoy a purple patch midway through, resulting in Andy Ducros and Anthony Watson having to make brave blocks from Rowe and Ben Billingham to keep the scores level.
