Murton enjoys a feast of goals

JORDAN Murton netted seven goals as title-chasing Oldbury Park Tigers Under 15s ran wild in a Stourport Youth League double-header.

After a six-week lay-off due to cup games and postponements, Tigers won 8-0 and 11-0 against rock-bottom Rock Sports in two matches of 50 minutes.

In the first game, James Day (2), Martin Welsby (2) and Tom Baker fired them 5-0 ahead by half-time.

Welsby completed his hat-trick alongside efforts from Murton and Baker.

Murton dominated the second game with a treble inside the first 10 minutes and he went on to grab a double hat-trick.

David Walker, Andrew Woodyatt (2), Day and Ryan Gwilliam also scored.

Nunnery Wood Jaguars won 6-3 at Kidderminster Lions Youth in a one-sided League Cup quarter-final tie.

Jaguars powered in to a four-goal lead with Azaad Khan, Adam Calvert, Ryan Upson and Sam Jones on target.

Lions pulled a goal back which only inspired further Jaguars strikes from Sam Kenny and Khan although the hosts scored two more with the help of the windy conditions.

The previous week, Khan (3), Kieran Sheen (2), Jack Finch, Jones, Calvert and Upson netted in a 9-2 league victory over Halas Hawks Juniors.

UNDER 14s: Northside Colts booked a League Cup semi-final with Wyre Forest Youth after a 4-3 win at Bewdley Town.

Stand-in first-half keeper Rhys Turberfield was kept busy but Colts took the lead through player-of-the-match Tyler Attwood. Bewdley levelled but Luke Williams nodded home to put the visitors back ahead by half-time.

Attwood added his second and Will Sowden fired in a free-kick, sandwiching a Bewdley reply.

The hosts scored again before Guy Bellamy hit the bar for Colts from the halfway line.

UNDER 12s: Runaway leaders Warndon Villages Sharks saw off Rio Juniors 10-0 with James Stevens hitting a hat-trick.

Sharks were three goals ahead at half-time through Kieran Burns, Connor Thomasson and Andrew Murphy.

A good display from the Rio keeper kept the score down but the goals flowed in the second period.

Matt Sowden, James Ridge (2), Daniel Jenkins and Stevens (3) completed the tally.

Nunnery Wood Tigers exited the South Staffordshire Cup at the quarter-final stage following a 3-2 defeat on penalties to competition favourites Phoenix.

The teams drew 1-1 after extra-time with Joe Bates on target with a free-kick which put the Worcester outfit ahead.

UNDER NINES: Nunnery Wood Scorpions won a Worcester derby 4-0 at Warndon Village Rhinos in Division One.

Jacob Saul broke the deadlock after good inter-play with Alex Hunt but Rhinos defended well to deny further goals until Harry Saunders swooped.

Saunders added a third before James Francis buried a hard, low strike for the goal of the match.

Ashley Mace was on target the previous week in a big 1-0 win at Meadow Park in the race for the title.

George Baker was player-of-the-match.

Meanwhile, Luke Obrey smashed five goals as Northside Tigers Under 13s romped to a 12-0 win at Newtown Sports Colts in Mercian Festival Junior League Division Two.

Obrey’s haul consisted of a headed goal, two one-on-one finishes and two screamers from long range.

Brandon Beasant (2), Jon Lee (2), Jordan Wise (2), Harry Taylor and also netted.

Pershore Town Under 12s won 4-1 at Ilmington United in the Ambassador League.

Barnett’s free-kick put Town ahead before Shepherd, McIlvenney and Kimberley scored in the second-half.
