KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Steve Burr says he will wait until after today’s FA Trophy semi-final clash at Stevenage Borough before deciding whether or not to strengthen his squad before the closing of the loan window on Thursday.
The Aggborough side head to Hertfordshire looking to overturn a 5-1 deficit from the first leg, but the former Stalybridge Celtic chief has several players in the treatment room as they look to close-in on the play-off places in Blue Square Premier.
Midfielder Dean Bennent (hip), defender Gavin Caines (Achilles) and midfielder John Finnigan (calf) were all expected to be left out at Broadhall Way today, while defender Martin Riley is having to play through the pain barrier with a bruised toe.
Midfielder David McDermott is returning to full fitness during his loan spell at Zamaretto League Premier Division side Halesowen Town, who Harriers meet in the Worcestershire Senior Cup final later in the season, and Burr may opt to recall him.
“With the injuries we have got I will wait until after this weekend before deciding whether the squad needs strengthening,” Burr said.
Midfielder Jack Byrne has signed a permanent deal with Harriers until the end of next season.
