WORCESTERSHIRE captain Vikram Solanki is refusing to press the panic button after seeing his side slip to early season back-to-back defeats.

He said: "With the new format of the C&G Trophy it is not a knockout competition anymore and there is a lot of cricket to be played before it gets to the business end and deciding who is going through.

"I'd prefer all batters to have had plenty of time in the middle and to all get big scores, but I know the guys are professional and they will work hard to try and get some form.

"Lancashire played pretty well to be fair and we didn't get the early break-throughs we would have liked having inserted them. They batted well to post a challenging total."
