CROQUET: WORCESTER Norton Croquet Club played against Cheltenham Croquet Club in the South West League Federation and came out on top 4-3 in a gruelling game.
Cheltenham is the premier club in the UK and their four players included Clim Sebrigh, who is secretary of the Croquet Association of England, and Ray Meads, who are both six handicap, and international referee Les Kershaw.
The Worcester team was Don Clay, Shirley Clay, George Dawsom and Allan J Laidlaw.
The marathon match lasted for six hours before Worcester triumphed.
