NEIL Fletcher (72) and Josh Staines (36) gave Stoke Prior a formidable total against Bar-nards Green in the Worcester Evening League's Carnival Cup competition.

Although the Green made a spirited effort to chase the 168 runs required for victory, they fell 22 runs short despite good innings from Richard Willi-ams 31 and Kevin Golder 27.

Karl Goddard 3-23 and Andrew Van Vuren 3-39 were the Stoke Prior bowlers to put the brakes on the Green.

In division three, MCT XI scored a massive 182-1 against Malvern Artefacts thanks to A Rehman (102 no) and J Khalid (70).

Artefacts could only manage 90-5 with Neil Prosser making 30 not out.

Josh Staines was again in good form for Stoke Prior in division one, scoring 65 in their total of 239-7. John Critchlow 71 and S Jenkins 47 did well for Himbleton.
