HAVING lost several finals, Eckington finally lifted a trophy with a 2-1 victory in the Express-Funding Mick Godwin Cup final against Bengeworth Sports.

All the goals came in the first-half with Andrews and Bostock’s penalty giving Eckington the edge.

Wellan replied for Bengeworth but an equaliser proved illusive.

Upton Snodsbury clinched the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League Division One title with a 6-0 win over Golden Cross, the goals coming from Rogers (4) and McLean (2).

Runners-up Bretforton Old Boys were defeated 4-1 by third-placed Red Horse, the Horsemen scoring through Staley, Pinkney, Johns and an own goal. Mitchell scored for the Old Boys.

Broadway United secured fourth place with a 3-1 victory over Crowle with Buckland (2) and Horsburgh on target.

Tesco United missed out on third place in Division Two with a 4-3 defeat at Alderton, Keatley scored twice for hosts Offenham Rovers but a strong second-half from Honeybourne Gate Inn earned a 5-2 win, Ballard and Williams both scoring twice for the visitors.

Champions Cider Mill were beaten 5-2 by Black Bear in the Evesham Hospital Minor Cup semi-final.

Tewkesbury Town secured their Division Three status with victory over Wickhamford Sports, while Defford/ Besford United had a comfortable 7-2 win over promoted WMK.
