THE long-awaited annual meeting at Worcester City will be held next month.

It will be in the Legends bar at St George’s Lane at 7pm on Monday, August 9, and shareholders will be presented with the accounts to May 31 for both 2008 and 2009.

It is the first time the Blue Square Bet North club have held an annual meeting since the controversial County Hall gathering in November 2008, which saw 12 directors, including current chairman Anthony Hampson, elected to the board.

However, the voting procedure was questioned and two of the directors had resigned within a week of being appointed.

It was followed by an extraordinary general meeting at which moves to oust the board with representatives of the Shareholders Action Group were rejected.

Next month’s meeting will be followed by an open forum for fans.

Meanwhile, the home pre-season friendly against Cheltenham Town on Saturday, July 24, has been cancelled due to the Robins now playing Swansea City.

Worcester manager Carl Heeley is looking to find new opponents for that date.

Former City players Marco Adaggio, Jordan Fitzpatrick and Kevin Spencer have all joined county rivals Redditch United.
