DAMON Gariff ripped through Romsley and Hunnington to claim a nine-wicket haul and victory for Worcester Nomads in Worcestershire League Division One.

The Nomads seamer single-handedly reduced the hosts to 68-9, taking all the wickets himself, to finish with 9-39 off 14 overs as they claimed a 14-run success.

Tareq Jamil claimed the other wicket for Nomads as he bowled opener Jon McDonnell for 61 after a last-wicket stand of 35 with Dan Giles.

Earlier, the Nomads were in immediate disarray when opener Sam Roberts departed without scoring, caught off Richard Beaumont.

Guy Davies was joined by Jon Inglis and these two put on 52 runs before the former was dismissed for 25.

After a rain interruption, Inglis quickly for an invaluable 33 before he was bowled by David Painter (4-27) as Nomads went on to slump to 116 all out.

Worcester crashed to 12-run defeat at lowly Malvern in Division One in a rain affected game.

Having put the hosts in, Worcester reduced Malvern to 55-4 following some fine bowling from Matt Walters and Liam Weston. Huw Dimond (36) was impressive but wickets continued to tumble as visiting captain Liam Kelleher (3-16) and James Wagstaff (2-31) collected regular wickets as Malvern limped to 167 all out.

Despite a solid start by Worcester, they were 48-1 after 12 overs before the rain came, they struggled to build any telling partnerships as they fell 12 runs short with Rob Francis claiming 4-43 and the Dovey brothers, Jon and Adam, picking up three wickets apiece.
