WORCESTER crews enjoyed a successful weekend at two regattas.

At Stourport, the intermediate three coxed four of Chris Lamb, Richard Soloducha, Dan Jew and Gaz Atkinson swept away the competition in impressive style.

On their way to the final, they beat hosts Stourport and Hollingworth Lake by four and three lengths respectively.

Worcester held off a strong challenge from opponents Burton Leander in the semi-final to win by two lengths.

In the final, they cruised to a four-length victory over Ironbridge.

Worcester’s Martin Rhodes continued his winning form with a victory in the masters ‘F’ single sculls.

Rhodes sculled strongly to beat Ted Moore from Burton Leander easily in the semi-final.

He then won decisively in the final by beating Graham Lloyd from London-based Quinton.

Jack Furniss came close to winning the junior 15 single sculls but was beaten by Upper Thames in the final, despite a strong display.

Thea Green also missed out on victory in the girls’ junior 14 single sculls final, as did Harriet Walker and Alisha Page-Long in the double sculls.

Worcester had wins further afield at Peterborough.

Competing over the 1,000m multi-lane course, Claire Crozier was successful in both her events.

In the masters ‘A’ single sculls, the ex-England and Great Britain under 23s rower blitzed her opposition from Evesham and Furnivall to win by more than 20 seconds.

Crozier then cruised to victory in the elite single sculls.

She again led from the start, pushing Reading into second place.
