WHITTINGTON elite rider Richard Cartland was the fastest at Worcester St John’s Cycling Club’s Severn Stoke 10-mile time trial.

Thirty-seven riders competed in breezy conditions on a fast course with Team Corley Cycles star Cartland clocking 22 minutes six seconds.

The quickest Saints rider was Adam Hart in 22.37 followed by Sean Dyson in 23.27.

Dawn Smith was the fastest woman in 27.16, while Dave Meakin and Dan Jones did 23.01 on a tandem.

The next club 10-mile time trial is on Tuesday, meeting at 6.45pm in Ankerdine Lane, Broadheath, with newcomers welcome.
