ROTHERHAM at Sixways on Saturday will undoubtedly be our toughest test so far this season.

They are one of three other teams with a two-from-two record in the Championship. One of us will lose that record this weekend.

The Titans have made an impressive start, having beaten Bristol away from home in their opening game.

They also most recently halted a Bedford team, who found some early good form against Plymouth.

It’s clear to see their recruitment has been strong with the likes of Henry Paul adding vast rugby experience and young players making a name for themselves, such as Juan Pablo Socino.

The 21-year-old Argentine scored the winning try last weekend and has been labelled as a powerful runner and accurate goal-kicker.

Many of the past results we will look at this season in preparation for unfamiliar teams will be null and void, as we had confirmed to us against Plymouth. Teams will get hammered one week then put in a huge performance against us the following week.

This, I feel, will not be the case with Rotherham. They are genuine top-of-the-table quality and I am sure will be consistently strong all year.

We’re very keen to put things right from our last two performances. We have played with good intent but let ourselves down with errors and poor accuracy.

Having just watched the DVD of the Plymouth game, I am pleased with the result. There was some really positive rugby at times and we looked good for the first few phases.

Unfortunately, we let ourselves down with errors creeping in. However, the style and patterns we are playing are creating scoring chances. We will cut out the errors and teams will struggle to cope against our attack.

It was great to see Miles Benjamin scoring a hat-trick. I am sure there will be plenty more tries to come from him, a few more hat-tricks will be good please Miles!

I also thought the replacements came on and made a good impact with Andy Goode kicking some important points to keep us clear.

As for me, it’s three weeks since my op, which means I can climb out of my groove on the sofa and say hello to the weights room.

Everything is going to plan at this early stage, the swelling has gone down and the stitches are out.

I managed to stay relatively sane, but my cast is slowly tipping me over the edge. I keep thinking ‘three more weeks, three more weeks’.

I am really looking forward to getting into the club, being around the boys, the banter and getting stuck into my rehab. I’m not looking forward to Chris Fortey discovering I now have the world’s skinniest right calf, though. Any sign of weakness and he’ll be ruthless!

I hope you are looking forward to Saturday as much as I am. I know the boys will be striving towards a strong, professional performance to keep our winning record going. Hopefully, I’ll see you there.
