KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Steve Burr has called on his side to show their ruthless streak when they host AFC Wimbledon on Sunday (3pm).

The Aggborough chief has been pleased with the number of chances his team have created this season but, with one of Blue Square Bet Premier big-hitters arriving this weekend, he wants to see those opportunities turned into goals.

Harriers extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a 1-1 draw at high-flying Fleetwood Town on Tuesday.

“It was a good performance at Fleetwood,” said Burr, who went to watch Wimbledon take on Crawley Town last night.

“The way that they have started the season, and on the back of their win over Grimsby, we knew it was going to be tough.

“But we need to start repeating those away performances at Aggborough.

“We need to be more ruthless. I know that goals haven’t really been hard to come by, but we are creating chances and we need to put them away.”

Burr was frustrated by Harriers’ last outing on home soil after they were held to a goalless draw by Cambridge United, but he knows Sunday’s assignment isn’t going to be any easier.

The clash with the Dons was originally scheduled for tomorrow, but Wimbledon’s match with big-spending Crawley, who Harriers face next Saturday, was shown live on Premier Sports TV last night, forcing the fixture back by 24 hours.

Harriers will run the rule over midfielder Dave Hankin and striker Nick Wright with the duo struggling with a hamstring injury and virus respectively.
