WORCESTER City manager Carl Heeley says his side have no reason to fear a trip to Corby Town in the FA Cup.

The St George’s Lane club have been paired with the Northamptonshire outfit in the third qualifying round on Saturday, October 9.

It is the second match in a row against one of City’s Blue Square Bet North rivals following Saturday’s stunning 3-2 victory at Boston.

Although Heeley had been hoping for a kinder draw, he says their Boston triumph has filled the players with a confidence to repeat the feat at Corby.

“If we can go to Boston and win, we can go to Corby and do the same,” he said.

“We are looking good away from home. We are going to go there full of confidence.

“I am not fazed about Corby away, we will be confident and positive.”

Corby, who have former City striker Adam Webster on their books, are seventh in the table and yet to lose at the Rockingham Triangle Stadium this season.

However, City have travelled well so far and have only lost once away from the Lane.

Having already banked £4,500 in prize money, there is a further £7,500 on the line for victory this time around.

The City boss added: “It’s a tough draw again. When you look at some of the ties, it could have been a lot kinder but, after Saturday, I was not bothered who we played on reflection.

“The draw is what it is and we are used to it at Worcester that’s for certain. I can’t think of another club who year after year keep getting so many tough draws.

“But we got a great result on Saturday and our reward is Corby away. We will acquit ourselves properly and it’s another winnable game.”

Chairman Anthony Hampson added: “I am delighted with the way the team pulled together to get the late winner against Boston and I think we are well capable of building on our away form to come through yet another tricky test at Corby.”

It means City now face an-other three weekend away games in a row, with trips to Telford United and Hyde United falling either side of the Corby match.

The draw will also force the scheduled home Blue Square Bet North match against the Steelmen on October 23 to be postponed, the date for the fourth qualifying round.

Redditch United’s reward for winning 2-0 at Loughborough Dynamo is a home match against fellow Blue Square Bet North side Hinckley United.
