TWELVE-year-old Alice Brooks has just won her third tournament in the Gaudet Luce ladies’ section.

Alice has only entered four competitions since joining the section in the autumn of last year and, so far, has managed three wins and a second place.

The talented youngster has been a member of the Russell Adams Golf Academy, which is based at the Droitwich course, for the last two years.

She has enjoyed massive success in academy tournaments and has just completed her masters three level of her coaching programme.

Alice’s coach, Russell Adams, said: “Alice is an exceptional talent, she is extremely focused for a 12-year-old and is not fazed by any competition or player.

“Add to this a remarkable natural abiltiy for the game and you have a fantastic talent with bags of potential.”

Alice is now part of Gaudet Luce’s girls section, which boasts more than 20 members, who play in girls-only tournaments every month.

The girls group is ran by the club’s ladies’ section, who have done an excellent job over the last 12 months in organising and running it.

Jenny Hartley, who helped develop the section with Adams, has now created a junior commitee, which is ran by the women, juniors and parents.

Adams added: “With Jenny’s energy and enthusiasm, we now have a fantastic girls section, girls-only coaching groups and competitions.

“This is often unheard of in golf clubs and is the reason why we now have so many girl members. If you have a daughter who may be interested in taking up the game, then why not bring her along to Gaudet Luce Golf Club for a free taster session?”
