WORCESTER Nomads’ successful indoor cricket team play at Edgbaston on Sunday in a county champion play-off with the Warwickshire winners.

If victorious, Nomads will take part in a regional finals day next month that could lead them to Lord’s for the nationals in April.

The club’s indoor league set-up are having mixed fortunes this season with the ‘A’ team undefeated and the ‘B’ side yet to seal a victory.

The ‘C’ team have had mixed results and net practice continues at Royal Grammar School Worcester on Sundays from 4pm until 7pm.

Nomads have lost last season’s first XI captain and wicketkeeper Steve Walsh, who has joined Birmingham League outfit Old Elizabethans.

However, the Bransford-based club have added former Romsley wicketkeeper Jon McDonnell who, along with an overseas player still to be recruited, will help Ben Schiffmann spearhead Nomads’ hopes for the season.

The club are keen to sign new players of all abilities and anyone interested can call Malcolm Jones (juniors) on 01905-429701 or Darren Lakin (seniors) on 07879-470362.

Nomads recently held their close-season awards dinner at Worcester Golf and Country Club for the seniors.

The juniors hosted their awards and quiz evening at the Coppertops.
