SKIPPER Pat Sanderson re-turns to action for Warriors in their friendly with Calvisano at Sixways on Friday night.

The flanker has been unavailable for Worcester's first two pre-season games because of the mandatory 11-week rest period following his involvement in the England tour to Australia.

But director of rugby John Brain has gained dispensation for him to face the Italian outfit in Worcester's last fixture before they begin their assault on the Guinness Premiership on September 2.

"You can expect him to play up to 60 minutes," said Brain. "He's been frustrated and wanted to get on to the field before now."

Sanderson looks set to be joined in the line-up by prop Chris Horsman, who was due to play in Saturday's game at Cardiff before picking up a minor injury in training.

Horsman has not played any rugby since limping off during Worcester's Boxing Day meeting with Bath last year and subsequently undergoing sur-gery on his ankle.

Centre Dale Rasmussen is also likely to return to the fold after recovering from a neck injury.

"Chris was set back by a minor knock last week, but he's fine," added Brain. "Dale's been rehabbing a slight neck problem over the pre-season but he's now ready."

The club are hopeful the newly-extended East Stand will be completed in time for the Calvisano game.

Operations director Mike Robins said: "We have a couple of formalities to complete but we should have it available for Friday.

"There's been a huge effort to get it ready. The guys have been working long hours and done a great job in a short space of time."

The North Stand is also expected to be open for the Calvisano match.
