KIDDERMINSTER Golf Club professional Patrick Smith has been elected Worcestershire captain for the second year running.
Smith joined KGC in 1991, aged 13, and under the guidance of Nick Underwood soon progressed to a single-figure handicap. He turned pro in 2000 and joined joined the Worcestershire PGA committee in 2003, before becoming captain last year.

Nine-hole mid-week medal: 1 Gerald Weaver, 17 points; 2 Tony Matchell 15 (on count-back); 3 Alan Biggs, 15.
