WESTFIELDS marched on in the FA Cup with a fine 3-0 victory over Midland Alliance rivals Racing Club Warwick.

They went through to the first qualifying round to celebrate the club's 40th anniversary.

Westfields overcame the wet, blustery conditions to put an accomplished team performance together.

It extended their unbeaten run at allpay.park to four matches.

Westfields, without the suspended Scott Jackson, Alex Hunt and Jamie Cuss, gave a debut to former Ross player Adam Bridges.

He linked up effectively with tireless skipper Mark Hibbard to form a hard-working midfield alongside Ashley Day.

Westfields got an early breakthrough when Chris Jefferson set up Mark Davis to score from 12 yards.

On the stroke of half-time, Westfields deservedly increased their lead when Jefferson out-jumped the Warwick defence from a Hibbard corner.

Alex Winstone and Anthony Rivett were solid for Westfields at the back. They added a third goal on 57 minutes through Davis after Paul Burton's shot was not cleared.

On September 16 in the first qualifying round, the Hereford side head to Belper or Boston Town who replay tonight.

Westfields head to high-flying Leamington tonight in the Alliance (7.45).

Pegasus Juniors make the trip to Highworth Town in the Hellenic League premier division (7.30).

Meanwhile, Ledbury Town Reserves got off to a perfect start in the Herefordshire Premier League, beating Hinton 7-0.

Lee Hooper opened the scoring after 12 minutes and Asa Smith, back from holiday, scored twice in quick succession.

Dan Herbert netted a brace to send Ledbury in 5-0 up at half-time. Smith then bagged his third and Herbert completed the rout.

Their next fixture is against rivals Colwall at New Street tonight (7.30pm).
