THE inaugural competition for the Maureen Kemp Memorial Trophy at Bransford was dominated by the club’s lady members.
First place in this better-ball stableford event went to Sheila Richards and Clarisse Knowles with a return of 49 points, just one ahead of Jenny Musson and Glenda Davidge, and two better than the mixed pairing of Leigh Thomas and Robin Young.
The event also raised a total of £278 for The Stroke Association.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Holmes won the Mayor’s Chalice, an 18-hole stableford event, with 45 points to finish four clear of Brian Lawrence.
Ferey Ghani hit form in the seniors’ June medal to win Division One by two strokes with a nett 69 from Trevor Atkinson. Eddie MacLaughlin won Division Two by three shots from Lee Dyment.
The ladies’ open produced a win for Bransford’s Trish Godwin and Francis Wilkinson (Evesham GC), who finished with 44 points — just one ahead of home pairing Glenda Davidge and Jodie Bennett.
