THE Worcester Nursing Cups have enjoyed their best season on record with £2,000 being donated to charity.
Entry fees and gate receipts for the Saturday Junior Cup and Sunday Junior and Minor competitions generated enough funds to give £500 each to the Air Ambulance, Regency Hill School in Warndon, the Talking Newspaper and Chatterbox.
There was also a sizeable donation from Blackpole haulier M Pinches and Sons.
All three of last season’s finals attracted bumper crowds at Worcester City’s St George’s Lane ground with Worcester Raiders defeating Malvern Town Reserves 2-1 to win the Saturday Junior Cup.
Evesham League side Red Horse won the Sunday Junior Cup with a 3-2 victory over Perrywood, while the Sunday Minor Cup went to KGV Worcester following their 4-0 success against VBL Sports.
