WESTFIELDS visited Southern League (South West) side Bishops Cleeve, managed by former Westfields’ player Alex Sykes, and the young Westfields’ team ripped apart the Gloucestershire side with a devastating 6-0 win in a pre-season friendly.
Westfields again included Sam Gwynne and Aidan Thomas, their two former Hereford United youngsters, who both produced devastating displays.
Thomas shot his side into a 2-0 interval lead with two fine strikes, then in the second-half notched his hat-trick.
Gwynne created a fine solo goal to make it a rout before Phil Glover headed home the fifth. Another Westfields new boy, Adam Newbury, headed home the sixth.
Sykes tried hard to get his side moving but was thwarted by some solid defending by Dan Price and Anthony Robbins who both worked hard in the Westfields’ side.
