A BRACE from substitute Jamille Matt steered Kidder-minster Harriers to a 4-2 win over a youthful Wolves line-up at Aggborough.
Matt, who replaced striker Steve Guinan who suffered a knock to the head with 30 minutes gone, fired home his two strikes just before the break to give Steve Burr’s side a 4-1 half-time lead.
Harriers’ comprehensive victory came after they fell behind in the first 15 minutes as a deft touch from Stefan Maierhofer found its way past home goalkeeper Daniel Lewis.
However, Harriers equalised quickly when Marc Willi-ams’ effort was saved by visiting keeper Louis Conner but Nick Wright was first to react to score from close-range.
Williams did get his name on the scoresheet with 25 minutes gone, however, as his he headed home a Wright cross.
After Matt replaced Gui-nan, whose head injury drew blood, the former gave his side the advantage with two goals in a minute. His first saw Matt head in a Lee Vaughan cross and his second saw him lash home a half-volley beyond the stran-ded Conner.
Wolves pulled back a consolation strike 10 minutes after the interval when Mai-erhofer crossed and picked out Sam Winnall to score.
Wright went close to grabbing his second on 66 minutes by was denied by a fine save by Conner.
Harriers’ substitutes Mick-ey Demetriou and Dave Han-kin combined in the dying seconds of injury-time to set up Luke Jones, whose header clipped the crossbar and was then cleared.
