WORCESTERSHIRE director of cricket Steve Rhodes is hoping seamer Richard Jones can force his way back into the first team after spending time with the England team.
The 24-year-old bowler helped England warm up for their 319-run victory over India in the second Test.
Rhodes said the reports back from England bowling coach David Saker were good.
“They were very pleased with him,” Rhodes said.
“Richard went to Trent Bridge to help England warm-up.
“Hopefully, this can help him on his way to getting back into the first team.
“He has only played one game in the LV= County Championship this season and that was against Durham, but unfortunately he went for seven-an-over.
“Ever since that game, it has been a rebuilding exercise. It is now a case of Richard performing consistently well for the seconds and forcing his way back.”
