THE Worcester City team will take on a different look over the next few weeks — as we try and raise money for a worthy cause.

Everyone in the squad, as well as the staff, have signed up for ‘Movember’, which sees men grow moustaches in November to promote awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.

My assistant manager Matt Gardiner came up with the idea of taking part and he sent out the information to the players who are all keen to raise cash for charity.

Growing a moustache seems a strange thing to do but it’s all done with the right intentions as it’s a serious subject.

The lads are committed to having a go although the jury is still out on whether some will be able to grow a moustache!

They have all signed up on the Movember website and some have even added profile pictures of who they might look like with facial hair.

Simon Brown thinks he looks like BA Baracus from ‘The A-Team’, while club secretary Joe Murphy has gone for Tom Selleck.

We’ll see how their efforts are progressing when we take on Guiseley at St George’s Lane on Saturday.

We lost 4-1 at Nethermoor Park in September so know we have an incredibly tough game this weekend, but we are out to get a bit of revenge for our defeat at their place.

Along with Stalybridge, who beat us 2-0 last Saturday, Guiseley are the team to beat in Blue Square Bet North.

They were my tip for the title and there’s not much to choose between them and Stalybridge.

But we gave a good account of ourselves last weekend and have shown we can compete with the best sides.

That’s positive but we also want to stay at the top end of the table and believe we can do ourselves justice.

It will be interesting to see how the players respond to last Saturday’s defeat.

Sometimes, a performance overrides the result because, as much as Stalybridge were excellent, I felt, with a bit more fortune, we could have got something out of the game.

There were two key moments — one was conceding 10 minutes before half-time and the other was Emeka Nwadike hitting the post.

If those incidents had gone the other way it would have been a totally different game.

The margins are fine but we are happy with the way we are progressing and Guiseley will be another stern test.

We only played them in September but their manager Steve Kittrick came to scout us last weekend which shows the respect we have earned.

I would also like to congratulate Ryan Clarke and his wife Gemma on the birth of their first child, Freddie, at the beginning of the week.
