A NIGHTMARE opening 15 minutes condemned Worcester Wanderers to defeat at Camp Hill depite a spirited fightback.
The hosts scored 23 points as the Wanderers were punished for their ill-discipline and errors in the opening stages.
But the visitors did manage to claim a bonus point after running in four tries after seemingly being dead and buried.
Camp Hill raced into a 17-0 lead in the opening five minutes with two converted tries and a penalty. Two further penalties from the hosts’ accurate kicker all but killed this match off as a contest.
However, the Wanderers, who briefly took the lead, showed true grit as they fought back.
Tries from Chris Jenkinson, Russ Marsland, Jake Saddington and debutant Ollie Jaynes gave the Sixways side their bonus point.
Greg Fincher marked his return from injury by converting two of the scores and kicked a penalty to complete the visitors’ scoring.
Wanderers will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Lichfield.
