MANAGER Steve Burr is relishing the opportunity to renew old acquaintances when his Kidderminster Harriers team host Droylsden today (3pm).

The sides lock horns at Aggborough in an FA Trophy second-round clash with a last 16 place at stake.

Dave Pace’s Bloods have aspirations of returning to the Blue Square Bet Premier after one season in 2007-08 and will arrive in Worcestershire full of confidence.

For Burr, however, the game is the latest in a long line of meetings against his opposite number, going back to his days in the Conference North. The 51-year-old, whose team are chasing a place in the Premier play-offs, has pitted his wits against Pace with a host of different clubs prior to taking the Harriers job and is expecting a tough encounter.

“Over the years I have had some good battles with Dave’s sides ever since my days at Hucknall and all the way through my time with Northwich and Stalybridge,” Burr said.

“He always produces a team who are there or thereabouts and they’ve enjoyed a lot of success over the years. They are a tough side to come up against and I have no doubt they will be up for the game.

“Their aim is to try and get promoted out of the North division but they will be also looking, like us, to make progress in this competition and go as far as they can.”
