LEDBURY darts ace Terry Jenkins reached the quarter-finals of Saturday’s Players’ Championship in Reading.
The 48-year-old beat Co Stompe 6-4, Matthew Edgar 6-3, Michael Smith 6-3 and Mark Webster 6-3 before losing 6-2 to Simon Whitlock.
Jenkins picked up £1,000 for his efforts at the Rivermead Centre with his wins over Stompe and Webster particularly eye-catching.
Phil Taylor won his first players’ championship of 2012 by following up a nine-darter with a 6-1 defeat of Wes Newton in the final.
The world number one continued his fine start to the year with a classy display, losing more than one leg only once in seven matches as he claimed the £6,000 first prize.
