KIDDERMINSTER Harriers head to Southport tomorrow (3pm) aiming for a carbon-copy of their victory at Grimsby Town.

Steve Burr’s side boosted their Blue Square Bet Premier play-off hopes with a 2-1 triumph at Blundell Park last Saturday, courtesy of Ryan Rowe’s injury-time winner.

It gave in-form Harriers a third victory in four games as they continue to heap the pressure on the league’s top five.

Southport occupy the final play-off place but Harriers can leapfrog them with three points at Haig Avenue.

Burr said: “We have to believe we can do it. We are on a good run at the moment and it was a terrific win against Grimsby.

“If we can produce the form of the last three games, we can get three points.

“The goal came very late but it was no more than we deserved.

“We have had some really good away performances this season.”

Harriers are without key midfielder Kyle Storer, who starts a two-match ban for 10 bookings, but striker Steve Guinan should play despite surgery on his broken nose.

Burr added: “We have done well to get this far without a suspension for 10 yellow cards but it was inevitable it would happen because some of the things you get booked for these day are for quite trivial things.

“Kyle’s been tremendous and will be a big miss but it’s an opportunity for someone to stake a claim.”

Meanwhile, Conference general manager Dennis Strudwick hopes to bring a conclusion to the Jamille Matt investigation in the near future after allegations of the striker’s eligibility.

He said: “It’s still on-going. I just need another bit of information and I am still hopeful of being able to draw a line under it.”
