MANAGER Matt Clarke wants his Evesham United players to show character as they seek to avoid relegation from the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.
With just three games to go, the Robins are four points from safety and without a win in their last eight matches.
Back-to-back defeats against struggling Redditch United and relegated Cirencester Town over Easter did not help their cause and they head to Bashley tomorrow (3pm) knowing nothing less than three points will do.
Clarke said: “We have lacked that little bit of desire which is uncharacteristic of teams I have been involved in because that was my big strength.
“Things have gone against us but, when you are down there, these are the kind of obstacles that are often put in place and you learn a lot about people.
“It was a poor return over the Easter weekend, which has left us with an uphill task, but we have still got to believe and, until it’s mathematically impossible, we will keep going.”
Midfielder Simon Fitter, back with the club after leaving earlier in the campaign, has suffered a suspected broken toe and could miss the Bashley trip.
Centre-half Jamal Clarke needed stitches in his face following the Cirencester defeat on Monday and is also doubtful.
However, midfielder Neil MacKenzie is available because his three-match ban for violent conduct against Cirencester does not start until April 23.
