PROMOTION-chasing Kidderminster Harriers host Kettering Town tomorrow (3pm) looking to continue their remarkable run.

The men from Aggborough are the Blue Square Bet Premier form side, having won five and drawn one of their last six games.

It has propelled them into the final play-off position with three matches to go, starting against the already-relegated Poppies.

However, with seventh-placed Luton just three points behind with two games in hand, manager Steve Burr knows his men cannot afford to take their foot off the gas. He will be looking to his players to show more of the character that saw them stun Southport and Newport County over the Easter break.

Luke Jones secured a last-gasp 2-1 victory at Haig Avenue before substitute Nick Wright scored an incredible late hat-trick, including two in stoppage time, to turn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 victory over lowly Newport 48 hours later.

Burr said: “When you’re winning, confidence is high. I don’t think we played as well as at Grimsby and Southport over 90 minutes but in the second-half we had a go and that’s all you can ask for.

“It’s no good throwing in the towel at 2-0 down. We got the players in at half-time and told them they had worked hard to get in a good position and not to waste it.”

Midfielder Kyle Storer is set to return after completing a two-match ban for 10 yellow cards and could come in for Jack Byrne, who suffered a hamstring injury on Monday.

Byrne has been an influential player for Harriers this season and Burr will be keen to see the 24-year-old make a speedy recovery.

Entry to the Kettering game is free to anyone under the age of 16.
